Carlo Luyckx - président
Carlo Luyckx, président de l'Union Bouddhiste de Belgique depuis 2014 et vice-président de l’Union Bouddhiste Européenne depuis 2023, a co-fondé en 1977 le Centre d’études tibétaines (Samye Dzong Bruxelles). De 1978 à 1984, il a consacré une partie importante de son temps au centre tibétain Samye Ling en Écosse, où il a étudié l'art de la peinture et l'iconographie tibétaine. En 1991 il devient directeur du Bureau de Liaison Bruxelles-Europe. En 1995 il est élu conseiller communal à Saint-Gilles et devient échevin de 2000 à 2018. Parallèlement, il est impliqué dans de nombreuses activités associatives, notamment en tant que membre fondateur d’Emouna Belgique. 

Veronique Pochet - vice-présidente
Véronique Pochet, vice-présidente de l’Union Bouddhiste de Belgique et responsable de la préparation de l’enseignement du bouddhisme dans les écoles dans le cadre du processus de la reconnaissance du bouddhisme, est pratiquante du bouddhisme Zen au sein de l’association Zen Sangha. Elle détient un Master en Théologie et études religieuses de l’université VU Amsterdam et a enseigné le bouddhisme aux futurs enseignants à l’Haute École UCLL. Engagée dans le dialogue interconvictionnel, elle participe à la coordination de la formation Emouna Belgique et occupe un poste de chercheuse chez UCLL, se focalisant sur la recherche et l'expertise pour une société inclusive.
